poufs.

I learned how to sew this weekend!  My mother-in-law is apparently a master seamstress.  I had no idea!  Her and my father-in-law came for a visit this weekend; we had a great time.  It was her idea to teach me how to sew.  She thought we could start by making some pillows for my couch.  Simple and easy, right?  Well, for some reason I got this idea that maybe we should make some poufs also.  I've been eyeing the ones at West Elm and CB2, but obviously I don't have $250 to drop on these.  After I showed her a picture of what the heck a pouf was, she was game to try.

I was so impressed with her.  I think they look amazing!  I can't really take any credit for them since she did all the hard parts.  I sewed the other pillows and help cut the fabric.  Here are some pictures that help document the experience.

I like to craft (obviously) but I wasn't sure if sewing would be my thing.  I think I like it.  I had a lot of fun this weekend and I'm excited about future projects.  My sister gave me a sewing machine last year but it was missing the pedal.  A replacement pedal has been ordered and many more sewing projects are to come (as long as the thread doesn't get jammed too many times)!
