Cleanse Recipe


Lentil Soup Recipe

Begin this soup in the morning – it should simmer all day
4 – 6 servings

Simmer covered for 3 – 4 hours the following ingredients:
3 cups raw lentils [rinsed]
7 cups water or stock
2 tsp salt

Steam or saute in butter the following. Then add to the lentils after the lentils have simmered 3 – 4 hours. After adding, continue to simmer on low heat:
2 tsp minced garlic
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup minced celery
1 cup chopped carrots

Add to the soup about 30 minutes before serving [optional: fine herbs, such as thyme or oregano or basil]:
Lots of black pepper
1 ½ cups chopped fresh tomatoes
2 Tblsp dry red wine
2 Tblsp lemon juice
1 ½ Tblsp molasses or brown sugar
1 Tblsp wine vinegar

Sprinkle extra vinegar and freshly chopped scallions on top of each serving.
