In today's world there are so many gadgets and gizmos available to us. But how do you know which ones are worth the money and the space in your house? Which ones make life so much more convenient that after having it you could never live without it?
Here are the top five gizmos that (I think) every kitchen should have.
1st: Kitchen Aid Mixer
Reason: I know what you're thinking...why do I need a big old mixer that takes up so much counter space when I have my nice little hand mixer tucked away neatly in my drawer. Let me just tell you, that's not a mixer. The Kitchen Aid allows you to have all hands free. You can dump in all your ingredients and clean up all before it's done mixing. It's amazing. Anyone that has one will tell you, it would be hard to live without...
2nd: A good set of knives.
Reason: I'm convinced it takes half the time and energy to do anything in the kitchen with good knives. If you can't get a whole set, just get a few to help you out. You won't regret it.
3rd: The Houdini Wine Opener
Reason: It's magical.
4th: A hand mixer
Reason: You can use this for anything and everything. You can make hummus, milk shakes, guacamole, soup, EVERYTHING! I just got one for Christmas and I am pretty much obsessed. Everyone should have this in their kitchen.
5th: William Sonoma thin and grip cutting boards
Reason: These are thin and small sized cutting boards. They have the cutting board surface on one side and grippers on the back. The reason I love them is because often times when making a dish I need to use multiple cutting boards. With normal cutting boards they take up so much room and are thick a heavy. You can use all of these in one meal and they don't take up all of your dishwasher and they are easy to use. They are also convenient for storing for people with small kitchens like me!
I know there is no reason for you to listen to my opinion on this subject. I'm not a gourmet chef or even a good cook for that matter. But I'm pretty sure if you listen to my advice you will thank me someday.
I'll be waiting... :)
